We wanted to update you all on our progress in bargaining the Executive Contract. We just had our third session on Tuesday June 25th. We met from 10:00am – 2:00pm with management, and caucused for a bit longer than that. The County came in with their initial economic proposals, and the Union was able to provide a comprehensive counter proposal that afternoon. While we are, obviously, not near an agreement only being 3 sessions into negotiations, we were pleasantly surprised to see the County’s initial offer, and are hopeful about the prospects for this negotiation.
The following were items that were discussed during this session (this does not include a full list, but are the major issues talked about):
Wages / Pay Plans
Health Insurance
Shift Differential
Longevity Pay
Stand-by Holiday Pay for Animal Protective Services
Pre-Disciplinary Meetings
Personal Days
Boot Allowances
Work-Related Disability
Training Pay
Temporary Assignment Pay
We were able to make progress on many, but not all, issues. The tone was collegial, and we are hopeful that we will reach a deal that addresses the concerns raised by both sides.
In Solidarity,
Your Bargaining Team
